The Omnivore’s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals
In The Omnivore’s Dilemma, Michael Pollan takes a completely different angle to writing about food – how it is grown and what it is that we are actually eating. This will certainly change the way you look and think about food.
The book is really three in one: The first section discusses industrial farming; the second, organic food; and the third, what it is like to hunt and gather food for oneself (if we ever find ourselves in that situation). He takes the reader on a journey up and down the food chain which will make you change the way you read the label on any food you may buy or the decision to buy organic eggs. You’ll certainly never look at a Chicken McNugget the same way again. Makes for an interesting read.
